"Return of the ..." is a perfect sequel to the original "Mother Head's Family Reunion". The overall feeling is that it is heavier than "Mother", without losing this Funky & old-school Soul spirit. Ritchie Kotzen made his singing debut at the time on the Family Reunion album. I remember reading a Guitar World interview in which he was explaining that he had to train almost a year specifically on improving his voice and singing abilities. 15 years later, you can say that he never stopped improving !!! The guitar work is AMAZING and the songs/melodies rock without sounding poppy or outdated Keep on funkin' ritchie !!!
