Matt Davis is a rising young comedian full of energy… and a lot of other stuff. After first taking the stage at age 17, Davis’ first two years of standup were spent as the house emcee at The Comedy Club Stardome where he was fortunate enough to work wit h the likes of Dave Attell, Dave Chappell, Kevin Pollack, and countless others. He’s since performed in 2000 seat theaters working with entertainers such as rock-a-billy artist and “Sling Blade” cast member Dwight Yoakam; and has gone on to log his own headlining dates at some of the best comedy clubs in the country (The Funny Bone in Highpoint, NC, The Punchline in Atlanta, GA, and The Stardome in Birmingham, AL for example). Matthew Davis has performed from Seattle to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas and everywhere in between, including two months as the requested feature performer on the “Mo Show” in Las Vegas (a gig he one day hopes to be paid for) where the Las Vegas magazine “What’s On” called his erratic on stage behavior like watching a “tightly wound spring.”
In 2005 Jagermeister sponsored Matt Davis for a four-month tour at the end of 2005 through the beginning of 2006. Around the same time, as a member of the writing team 5 Guys in a Garage, Davis was instrumental in the digital licensing of Jabtv.com’s catalogue of animation and live action shorts. As he continues to both promote existing projects and develop new ones with 5 Guys in a Garage, Matt is also collaborating on several projects with others as well as writing and producing his own short films.
On Stage, the 25 year old ranting, raving, hyper-wow comedian sets his pace by illuminating his real life experiences with off=the-cut non sequiturs and material produced by an off track train of thought at full steam ahead. Through what he’s learned from the past, to what he did this morning, nothing is sacred…. Nothing is safe.
