Paul is an artist that enjoys creating emotions put to music that most living adults will be able to relate to. As an artist, he believes it’s important to appreciate all genres of music. His musical influence starts at an early age of 5 listening to and loving the Beatles. He was raised watching Saturday night at the Grand Ole Opry on TV with musicians such as Dolly Parton, Porter Wagner, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Minnie Pearl, etc. As he grew his musical influence evolved to Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, Three Dog Night, Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Santana, Queen, David Sanborn, Miles Davis, BB King, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Burt Bacharach, Don Henley, and many others. At age 14, Paul’s friend Billy Sheperd had a cheap guitar which Paul traded a pair of roller skates for and started teaching himself how to play. In 1978 Paul wrote the music to the Franklin County (Frankfort KY) High School’s Senior Class Song titled “I Think We’ll Make It”. The senior class put together a budget. Paul and a handful of his artist friends went to a studio in Louisville KY and recorded the song on a 33 record and each graduating senior received a complimentary copy. Today, he plays lead/rhythm guitar, keyboards, and harmonica with his band "VELVET SOUL".
