Bubba Beyond is a feral group of blue-eyed soul brothers from different areas of the deep south - white rockers who have always revered black music of the 60s and 70s. Brought together by artist Rake Baker and guitarist Bubba Jenkins, the band relocated to the pungent hills of Mendocino county, California to escape the prevailing culture and "get down" without harrassment. Their "thang" is based in their specific geographic orbit: the south, New York City, and the hippie northwest - a potent and ridiculous cultural blend, resulting in a distinctive, eclectic mix of roots funk, hard rock, jazz and psychedelic music.
