DARK & STORMY are Rick Demers of Norton, Ma. and Joel Greene of Bristol, R.I. They have been performing as a duo in the Southern New England area for the past seven years. Be it Newport in the summer or Taunton in the winter you're likely to find them switching musical gears, as they love playing Celtic, folk, blues, tasteful pop/rock covers as well as their own compositions. Their first C.D. "truth be told" which Teresa Storch of CDFreedom.com likened to "time well spent in a mellow honky tonk dive…" had Joel playing violin, mandolin, and electric guitar accompanied by Rick on acoustic guitar and harmonica. The new CD "Along the Way" produced by Jack Gauthier at Lakewest Studio features more of the same and then some, as they include the seasoned rhythm section of Marty Ballou and Marty Richards who add the desired punch on ten new original songs and two D&S favorite covers. No doubt the "Marty's" who have backed the likes of John Hammond Jr, Duke Robillard, and Peter Malick to name a few, were "instrumental'" in bringing the songs to another level. Rick also spends a good amount of time in Saint Petersburg, Fla. where he performs as a solo artist.
