The Mountain Aires are a group of young acoustic musicians from Wake County, North Carolina. Their award-winning style reflects a mature sense of creativity, beauty, and excitement. They play a unique blend of traditional acoustic music, including bluegrass, Celtic, folk, old-time, and gospel. Mountain Aires features acoustic music on the hammered dulcimer, violin, mandolin, banjo, guitar, and bass, with hints on their second album of pennywhistle, cello, autoharp, and djembe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Newly Released: Mountain Aires: Christmas ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yuletide greetings from carolers on the front stoop, snow crunching beneath booted feet, crackling from the logs burning bright in the woodstove, reverent silence at the manger scene—the carols of Mountain Aires: Christmas echo the familiar, treasured sounds of Christmastime, reminding you of the joy and hope of Advent. Since Mountain Aires released Echo the Legacy in early 2007, the band has matured musically and developed a more subtle, sensitive, complex, and innovative style. The group has introduced new instruments and textures, enhancing the distinctive sound and personality of Mountain Aires. Their wish is that this album will bring great joy and cheer to you and yours this Christmastide. The track list includes beautiful arrangements of familiar carols, delightfully refurbished traditional tunes, and fantastic original compositions.
