Morgan McPherson was born on January 27th, 1985 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Born 229 years later to the day, she shares a birthday with the famous classical pianist and composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Morgan began studying classical piano with a teacher at the age of five and went on to study at the Music Academy of North Carolina (then called the Greensboro Music Academy). She studied there for many years until the age of 16, and competed in annual competitions. Morgan graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro's School of Music in December 2007 shortly after her November 2007 release of her first musical project, an EP called 'Fragile Little Me.' In January of 2008, Morgan established Silver Chord Records, LLC an independent record label and music company. Determined to keep recording and perfecting her craft, Morgan began working on a full-length album in February of 2008 called Stranger in the Mirror. Stranger in the Mirror was released in January 2009 and was recorded at Underground Sound in Greensboro, NC with Saul Johnson. Merely 5 months after the release of Stranger, Russ Long heard the project and came on board to record an EP with Morgan that included the talents of Ron May (bass) and Strother Bullins (drums). In August of 2009, all three went down to Nashville to record with Russ at the House of David on music row. The project birthed from that collaberation is 'Destiny, Save Me.' It is a double-disc package that includes a 7-track EP and a DVD with over 2 hours of footage. Morgan's music is a melting pot of her classical training and love of alternative rock. It is alternative meets classical meets rock meets pop meets experimental. Morgan writes predominately pianistically centered lyrical ballads with words of sharp honesty that bare the soul and tell a story. Morgan’s most recent release is 'Destiny, Save Me.'
