BIOGRAPHY
Ed Englerth’s ‘Restless Ghost’ rocks its way through 13 intelligent-folk-jazz-blues tunes. Ed’s band is in top form on this recording and Ed’s friend, Ray White (Frank Zappa Band & Zappa Plays Zappa), drops by to lend a hand too. How does Englerth keep that continuity of sound while at the same time covering such a multiplicity of styles? Maybe it’s that rhythmic groove that runs through his songs. Whatever Ed’s magic touch is, one doesn’t have to understand how Ed does it to enjoy this great CD. . . .
